Mental Health Services Plan (MHSP) is a program provided by the State of Montana to pay for mental health services for low income Montanans. Necessary treatment is provided at no cost to eligible Montana residents who suffer from serious mental illnesses and emotional disturbances. A
copayment, from $5 to $17 per prescription, is required when receiving prescription medication. If you qualify you can choose to visit “providers”-such as family doctors, psychiatrists, therapists, and mental health centers that participate in the MHSP program and is willing to accept you as a client.
Eligibility: Low income Montanans whose total family income from all sources is not more than 150 percent of the official “poverty level” set by the federal Health and Human Services Department.
